As the final task, Eurystheus wanted to pick something hard and impossible. He decided that Hercules must travel to the Underworld and kidnap Cerberus.

Cerberus was a vicous beast that guarded the entrance to Hades and kept the living from entering the underworld without dying first.

After learning the secerets of the Underworld from twopriests, Hercules set off to a place called Taenarum. Through a rocky cave, Hercules made it down to the Underworld where he had many other adventures. After he reached Pluto, and asked to take Cerberus. He agreed, only if he could beat Cerberus with nothing but his brute strength.

After throwing this fearsome beast to the ground, he took Cerberus to  Eurystheus and was set free from his evil doings.
