The Mural

This Mural was painted to represent many of Hercules's tasks and themes. There are many parts of this mural that have symbolism. For instance, the man wrestling the bull represents Hercules and the Creten Bull. The man riding the horse in the background represents the Man-Eating horses. The man with the rope, pulling the other man holding the rope represents Eurystheus pulling Hercules and forcing him to do different tasks. The people ontop of the Cornocopia are the people above, looking down on Hercules as he does his tasks, and the man filling the basket with food is Hercules giving his "highers" the rewards of his labors.
